Graphic/Web designer extrordinaire Kevin Vegh, who also happens to be brothers with our assistant manager, came by the shop last week to fill the chalkboard with some new art. Kevin’s brother then asked him a few questions so we could all get to know him a little better.

Who is Kevin Vegh?

Besides being a pretty awesome all-around dude, I’m a Graphic & Web Designer Born and Raised in the beautiful city of MTL. In my spare time you can usually find me working on some Art and Photography … or hanging out with my Pit bull Bentley.

 What was your inspiration for the Vans OTH Chalkboard?

As a kid I was obsessed with Super Mario Bros. and I always loved the simplicity of the artwork of the original game, so I thought it would be cool to take the pipes which were a major part of the game, and show my own take on what was going on under the surface seeing as how you only ever see the tops of them in game … that and I dropped my keys in the toilet last week ……………………….

Super Mario seems to be absent, where is he?

He is on a well-deserved vacation in the Caribbean with his buddy Yoshi, away from all the Turtle stomping / Princess saving. He should be back next week, plumbers need vacations too you know.

 I sent him a quick text and he said he’ll definitely be there for the next one.

 Speaking of video games, name your top 5 of all time.

My Top 5 of all time would have to be:

1)      The Original Mortal Kombat

2)      NFL Blitz ( Preferably in the Arcade … I’m a Purist J)

3)      Street Fighter

4)      Battlefield 3

5)      And of course THE classic … Super Mario Bros.
